Spring Notes // Pt.2

I wasn’t kidding when I said stripes will be the biggest print this season, here in a vintage inspired red and off white dress with cool accents like the button running along the middle. Linen will come in in all shapes and forms, and I love how we will see them in more dressy shapes than the usual like this dress.

Last year, we saw the revival of the 90 era combat boot, designers were quick to tackle the trend and these chunky lace up sure enough made its way to our closet despite the doubts. I polished them up with a contrasting delicate set, cotton blended white bustier crop with puffy sleeves and high waisted culottes, both popular silhouettes this spring. The cherry on top is also a throwback to our childhood, a beaded colorful bag.

Things to highlight: play around with vintage inspired trends, pearl barrettes, beaded bags, wear all the stripes you find and most importantly take a deep breath because that is exactly what these fabrics should let you do -breath. It’s gonna get hot mama.

Spring Notes // Pt.1

Man, was it a long winter or was it a long winter? So happy to be whipping out these Spring colors and fabrics finally. In ode to this statement, I will talk to you all about the flowy, airy and breathable fabrics -that in our town, are so under estimated. I’d go a far as describing them as life saving. So before we regret saying goodbye to fall and the weather temperatures sky rocket, lets go over some themes that will play a big role on our survival and keep us cute as well as trends that are sticking on from this past season.

There will always be a matching set or two being featured in this blog, I love how versatile these pieces are and better yet, so easy to mix and match with others. Its the Jack to my Rose --I’ll never let go. This set highlights THE print of the season: stripes. Baby blues and an easy chiffon sheer top to pair, my go to chunky kitten heels and 2 key hot accessories, gold dainty shell hoops and choker and a bucket hag with acrylic chain handles.

What's Your Holiday Style? // Pt.3

This last style, I like to call, The it girl. The one that always wants to wear the latest trends all in one --a walking Instagram outfit post, only thing missing is her bff labradoodle. And because I can’t have enough of the leopard print trend, this one goes all out. Two of the biggest trends, the silky midi skirt and leopard print, we saw these over all feeds. The skirt is a winner in itself because it lets you mix and match easily with other tops or a graphic tee.

Here: a matching set of pink printed satin like set with a wool hat and white boots, to top is off a matching leopard coat and of course, an almond milk latte to go.

Before we know it, 2019 will be knocking on the door. Lets end the year with a bang and knock out oufits. Thank you all for following along and reading my nonsense, its always fun to show you what’s in store for you. Hope your next year is full of many, many blessings. XO - Michelle

What's Your Holiday Style? // Pt. 2

Next up, the disco ball: sequins is a must on her book. She’s been waiting all year for this night, the night to shine in the perfect little sequin covered number. To make things better, the sequins are pink in a flattering tulip shaped bottom with long sleeves. I paired with a mini clutch and floral heels for contrast.

Why I love this dress, all about it promotes good feels, the girly pink, abundance of shine with its long sleeves but at the same time it allows you to show some skin with the mini skirt, lessening the impact of the sequins. All around a good balanced look.

What's Your Holiday Style?

The holidays are coming full throttle. Everyone is glistening and happy, and the fam gets together, your prime amazon orders are in, your house smells like fresh baked cookies. You even have that posada everyone’s been blazing up your WhatsApp coming up. Yet the inevitable question comes up, and somehow everything starts to crumble from there. “What am I going to wear?"

Studies show that during a time of fashion crisis, people’s mood drop by a 49.8%. I for sure am in a better mood if I like what I’m wearing So to avoid a melt down, the key is to plan. — have we not learned that yet?

But to successfully execute said planed outfit, it is important that we choose one that calls out your name. Wear what is you with confidence or even better, wear all of them with confidence. By them I mean all following looks: I’ve narrowed down three of my go to’s styles…which one is you?

The home body: comfort is key for this gal, but she won’t risk looking sloppy. Because there might be tamales at that posada, I give you a pair of high waist super soft corduroy flares and trendy furry sweater. Add eccentric details like these translucent sunnies and a must touch of leopard print.
